Dentures and Partials

Dentures are removable dental appliances that are used to replace missing teeth. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing and are made to resemble natural teeth and gums. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain and are used to fill in the open spaces to prevent your remaining teeth from shifting.

In addition, complete dentures may be either "conventional" or "immediate." A conventional type is made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed. Immediate dentures are made in advance and immediately placed after the teeth are removed. If you need dentures your Dentist will talk with you about which would be better in your specific situation.

Whether you have lost all your teeth or several in an arch, your dentures will improve your chewing, speech, digestion and enhance your smile.

Dentures are very durable appliances and will last many years. Due to normal wear and changes in your mouth they may need to be readjusted, relined, or repaired from time to time.
